Omnichat raised a $10M Series A for AI agents that sell and support inside WhatsApp and other chat apps. What it means for small sales teams.

In short

Hong Kong-based Omnichat has raised a US$10 million Series A led by Openspace Capital to scale Omni AI Agents, a set of AI marketing, sales and customer service agents that work inside WhatsApp, LINE, Instagram, WeChat, KakaoTalk, TikTok and Facebook Messenger. The round is another sign that the chat thread, not the web form, is becoming the place where small brands qualify leads and close orders.

  • Round: US$10M Series A, led by Openspace Capital with Darwin Ventures and Acorn Pacific Ventures
  • Product: Marketing, Sales and Customer Service agents plus OmniClaw, an AI business analyst
  • Use of funds: scale the agent platform, more R&D, global expansion beyond Asia-Pacific

Omnichat, an AI-native marketing and customer experience platform headquartered in Hong Kong, announced on 26 October 2026 that it has closed a US$10 million Series A. According to the company announcement on PR Newswire, the round was led by Singapore-based Openspace Capital, with Darwin Ventures and Acorn Pacific Ventures taking part. TNGlobal reported the same figures a day later.

The pitch is simple: instead of sending a shopper from a chat app to a website and hoping they convert, Omnichat's agents build segments, recommend products, take the order and answer support questions inside the conversation itself. The company says it serves more than 5,000 clients, including Dyson, FILA, Watsons, L'OCCITANE and VF Corporation, and has helped them generate over US$100 million in revenue.

For small sales teams the signal matters more than the deal. Buyers already message brands on WhatsApp and Instagram, and vendors are now racing to put an agent on the other end of that thread. Off-the-shelf tools will cover the common cases; when the agent has to read your own CRM, price list and order history, the work usually lands on a small dedicated engineering team, the kind of setup YuSMP Group runs for companies that do not want to hire in-house.

What did Omnichat announce?

Omnichat's founder and CEO Alan Chan described the raise as a turning point for the company: "This Series A marks an important step as we transition from conversational commerce to AI-driven commerce." The money will go into scaling its agentic AI platform, deeper research and development on Omni AI Agents, and expansion beyond its Asia-Pacific base.

The product line launched this year has four parts: a Marketing Agent, a Sales Agent, a Customer Service Agent and OmniClaw, an AI business analyst. The company says OmniClaw reached around 300 brands within two months of its June launch, and that usage of the Marketing Agent tripled over the same period. Those are company figures and have not been independently audited.

Why does selling inside chat matter?

Every extra click between interest and purchase loses buyers. Chat apps remove most of those clicks: the customer asks a question, gets an answer and pays without leaving the thread. Until recently that only worked if a human rep was online. AI agents change the economics, because the first reply, the product suggestion and the follow-up can now happen at 2 a.m. without extra headcount.

The catch is data. An agent that recommends products needs clean catalogue data, and an agent that qualifies leads needs the same fields your reps use. That is why chat agents are really a CRM project wearing a messaging badge. If your contacts, consent status and deal stages are messy, an AI agent will simply automate the mess faster.

What does it mean for small and mid-size teams?

  • If you sell to consumers through chat: expect more vendors offering in-chat agents in the next year. Compare them on how well they write back to your CRM, not on how fluent the demo sounds.
  • If you sell B2B: chat agents will reach you later, but the pattern is the same. Qualifying questions, meeting booking and follow-ups are the first jobs to be automated.
  • If you run a small team: the real win is speed to first reply. Even a basic agent that answers within a minute and hands the thread to a rep with full context will beat a shared inbox checked twice a day.

What should you do now?

  1. List your chat channels. Write down where customers actually message you today and how many conversations each channel brings in a week.
  2. Check what lands in the CRM. If chat conversations never become contacts, activities or deals, fix that first. Our CRM integration guide walks through the usual connectors.
  3. Decide what the agent may do alone. Answering FAQs and booking calls are low risk. Quoting prices, giving discounts and taking payment need clear rules and a human fallback.
  4. Score before you automate. Let the agent hand hot leads to people quickly. Our guide to AI lead scoring explains how to rank them without a data science team.
